October 2020 Haiti Trip
The events of this year have made ministry difficult, even in the midst of overwhelming need. Though our Spring trip was cancelled just days before our scheduled departure, the team was faithful to wait and to trust. In October, we were finally able to say, yes, we are coming. The trip was challenging in many ways, some due to Covid 19 and some due to the areas in which we served. We split the trip between the central plateau and the south of Haiti, crossing over to Ile a Vache and the surrounding islands. In the midst of tropical weather and the inconvenience of sleeping in tents in the rain, we were able to see 816 patients and live out our testimony that wherever God calls us, we will go. At the end of our time together, one of our translators said, “Thank you so much for coming to Haiti and risking your lives to help the Haitian people.” My response, it isn’t only us who takes these risks. If it were not for you and the rest of our Haitian family, we would not be able to do the work we do. Thank you for risking your life to help us. At the end of the day, I believe the safest place you will ever be is running towards what God has called you to do. Our next trip will be October 12-21, 2022. Are you being called to go?
